AAA members who rent a vehicle at participating Hertz, Dollar, or Thrifty locations in the U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico receive certain benefits as long as they book a AAA Rate.
AAA Benefits such as child seats may appear on vehicle price breakdowns or receipts until membership is proven at the counter.
To qualify, the member must select the AAA Rate during the booking selection. They should also provide a valid AAA member number when making the reservation and present the AAA member card at the counter when picking up the vehicle. Details may be found at these sites:
If a member is on location, prior to pick up, and is having an issue with their benefits being applied, please refer the member / location to the pages above as these are their branded pages, so accuracy cannot be disputed. As long as they have booked the AAA CDP, the benefits apply, as stated. Some locations may not be participating, but unfortunately we do not know what locations do or do not honor these benefits. All corporate locations do, franchise locations may vary.
For the fuel plan, the discount is only provided if the "fuel purchase option" or FPO is added at time of rental. No discount is provided for returning on a full tank, regardless of purchasing the FPO.
For international rentals, discounted pricing is the only AAA benefit.
AAA Discounts/Benefits are not currently available for any other brand.
As a general reminder, never sign the rental contract if there are any price discrepancies without obtaining any necessary clarification or correction as most changes cannot be made after the agreement is signed on location.
A CDP is required on the booking to get these benefits. That code is automatically included on the AAA Rates returned by our system, and cannot be manually entered. If a customer has a primary program linked to their gold account, it may override the AAA CDP originally included in the quote. If a customer modifies their booking to use another CDP, that would also remove the AAA CDP as only 1 can be used per booking.
No AAA benefits will be provided on any booking without a AAA CDP.
- The only way to use a AAA CDP through a booking from our system is by selecting the AAA Rate
- If a booking is created outside of our system, or the CDP needs to be added during a modification with Hertz the code needed is their club code for Hertz (ex 215 for East Central), and for Dollar it is the same code with 3000 in front (ex 3000215), for Thrifty it is the same code but with 3300 in front (ex 3300215).
- Club code is the 4th, 5th, and 6th number on their membership card, which is typically the 2nd set of numbers.
